An exceptionally pretty and highly expressive nose combines ripe yet cool notes of red cherry, anise, violet, rose petal and a wonderful array of spice nuances. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess a beguiling inner mouth perfume while exhibiting stunningly good length on the moderately austere, stony and superbly long finale. This too has that sense of poise, indeed it's Zen-like. One to search for as this is seriously good.

Attractive mid purple. The nose is less immediate than the Griotte, but on the palate this is once again an incredibly noble wine. Less sensual at the moment but with a noble headiness to the fruit, allied to an excellent backbone. Fascinating how different in style the two wines are, but both pretty much as good as it gets in Burgundy.
