Tasted from a 100-cl test-tube-like bottle and part of Kopke's Traveller's Kit Collection.
Lightish golden brown. Layered aromas that are both sweet and savoury – mushrooms, dried fruits – figs and brown apricots (the unsulphured kind) – walnuts, polished wood. Rich and broad in the mouth, with fine structure from fully resolved tannins and fresh acidity. Long, moreish, captivating, with a salted molasses aftertaste. Gloriously compelling. Sip very slowly.
