The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from vines around 70-years in age. Slightly deeper in color than the Clos Prieur, it has a very perfumed, floral bouquet that is well defined. The palate is well balanced with a soft and fleshy opening. Plenty of plump red fruit here, a fine line of acidity and though the finish is not overly complex it has commendable focus and a pleasant spicy aftertaste.
