Jancis Robinson (16.50)

From a total vineyard area of 2.5 ha, 20% from Aux Ravioles on limestone marl, ‘terres blanches’. Cask sample.
Pale ruby. Lots of undergrowth and earthy red-cherry fruit. Medium-bodied, elegant and poised, with light, powdery tannins. Quite refined, as a Vosne-Romanée should be. (MH)

Vinous (90)

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village is quite understated on the nose. Forest floor scents mix with incense as red berry fruit tones gently unfurl in the glass, though it doesn't make too much of a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit mixed with blood orange on the entry and moderate weight. It is finely balanced with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you'll have a lovely Vosne Village on your hands.

Burghound (91)

Moderate reduction flattens the fruit though a touch of spice peeks through the funk. More interesting are the nicely voluminous and rich medium weight flavors that possess excellent vibrancy that continues onto the impressively persistent, youthfully austere and well-balanced finale. Worth considering as this is a fine Vosne villages.

Jasper Morris (92)

More of a garnet to crimson colour. The fruit is not immediately so flamboyant. A strawberry or two perhaps. The village Vosne is on the softer side but none the less very agreeable and the fruit builds to the back. Now more alpine strawberry, this is growing in the glass.
