Civilized Châteauneuf, built along the great traditions of the appellations, showing leather, smoke, wet earth, pebbles, mineral and black fruit--all in a ripe, sweet and smooth package. Full-bodied, lots of ripe fruit on the long, harmonious finish.

Floral fragrance. Real lift and suppleness with a whiff of Syrah on the nose. Relatively high acidity and some quite tough tannins still. A very chunky wine on the palate.
