The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château is supple and charming, bursting with aromas of sweet cherries, red berries, spices and loamy soil, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and enveloping palate.
Cask sample. Mid cherry. Very floral nose with peonies and rose. Red cherries and early-season raspberries. Elegant, crisp acidity. Some structural weight on the finish, this is getting bigger year on year. (MH)
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château has a delightful bouquet of red cherries and light strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft opening and light tannins, fresh towards the open, transparent finish. Not long-term, but delicious.
Relatively firm reduction is enough to mask the underlying fruit. Otherwise, the sleek, delicious and vibrant middleweight flavors are supported by ripe tannins on the lingering and inviting finish where the only nit is a trace of warmth.
Pretty pink purple with a striking bouquet, very fine light fresh balanced, strawberry and alpine strawberry, a fraction drier behind, yet very good length. Drink from 2028-2032.
