A potent airy but earthy nose combines hints of new oak, iron, floral and intense upper register red pinot fruit aromas that give way to notably rich, pure and punchy middle weight flavors that are long, serious and deep with a mouth coating finish. The tannins are prominent but classy and the balance is here to age gracefully for at least a decade. Like the old vines Gevrey, this is an old school burg that will need plenty of time in bottle. Recommended.
