Potel’s 2005 Volnay Santenots delivers a lovely aromatic melange of plum, cherry and spice cake, a richly-fruited, spicy palate impression, and an overall suffusion of wood smoke, meat stock, salt and chalk. Plum paste, brown spices and salty, chalky minerality also dominate a finish of impressive grip.
