This Chambolle-Musigny from Méo-Camuzet Frère and Soeur is a Pinot Noir wine from Côte de Nuits.
The year 2023 was blessed with ample rain and heat, resulting in exceptionally high yield potential and a generous harvest. Heavy rains fell at regular intervals throughout the season. The harvest concluded around the 15th of September. A cautious approach was taken at the winery. Cold maceration was kept relatively short, the fermentation temperature was lowered slightly, and extraction was kept within the normal range to avoid excessive extraction.
Let it breathe in a decanter for about an hour and you can enjoy it right away, but given the presence of tannins, it's clear that waiting a little while will be well worth it. The period from 2026 to 2040 will likely be when it's at its most delicious.
