The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Garennes boasts gorgeous inner perfume in its honey, almonds, and apricot jam. This is very much an exotic, viscous wine with considerable textural richness and weight, much of which comes from the 3.5 grams of residual sugar in the wine at present. Hints of botrytis wrap around the engaging finish. It will be interesting to see where the Garennes ends up once it goes into bottle.
