The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Véroilles is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis, blackberries, warm spices and a subtle framing of new wood. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a richly structured and tight-knit core, a bright line of acidity and a long, mineral finish. Along with the Cras, this gets my nod as likely Barthod's longest-lived wine of the vintage.
