The 2022 growing season in Barbaresco was warm and dry, and the summer heat contributed to the early ripening of the Nebbiolo grape. For Gaja’s “Sori Tildin” wine, made from grapes harvested on the southern slopes of the Roncagriette vineyard, this gave the wine a rich, fruity flavor and ripe tannins. Compared to the cooler 2021 vintage, one can expect a more mature flavor with more pronounced fruit notes. In this vintage, Gaja's traditions, late harvesting and meticulous green pruning, paid off, allowing this wine to retain the acidity that was lost in plots with lower-quality grapes.
