The 2020 growing season in Piedmont provided the Nebbiolo grape with a warm and consistent ripening period, while the cool nights that lasted into October helped preserve its pronounced acidity. For Gaja’s “Sori Tildin” wine, made from grapes harvested on the southern slopes of the village of Barbaresco, this meant that the tannins fully matured without compromising the aroma characteristic of this cru. The 2020 vintage is among the relatively mature ones of recent years, yet it has not lost its freshness.
