Emmanuel Rouget's Vosne-Romanée 2022 is a red village wine produced in Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits, made by blending grapes from the following five plots located on the slope above Cros Parantoux: Aux Raviolles, Les Jacquines, Vigneux, Maizières, and Les Barreaux. Although technically classified as a village-level wine, it actually embodies many of the distinctive characteristics of this domaine's Vosne, namely, silky-smooth red fruit aromas and a finish with mineral notes.

The growing season from April to September experienced near record-breaking heat and sunshine levels in 2022, comparable to those of Burgundy, making it the second-hottest summer since 2003. However, rain fell at a critical time. The vines in Vosne-Romanée received 75 mm of rain from 22 to 26 June, followed by an additional 25 mm on 15 and 16 August, enough to allow the vines to continue growing despite the high temperatures. The risk of disease remained minimal, and sorting was limited to removing withered berries.

As a result, the wine in the glass lacks any burnt fruit notes; its alcohol content is lower than in 2020, and its acidity is only slightly reduced. The fact that it feels like a fresh vintage despite being a warm year, that is the whole story of 2022 in the Côte de Nuits.
