The growing season in the Côte de Nuits in 2020 was warm and dry, and an early harvest yielded small, concentrated berries. For Emmanuel Rouget’s wine, “Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts,” this resulted in a richer finish than the typical style of “Les Beaumonts,” but, thanks to the domaine’s winemaking methods, destemming and cold maceration, the wine retains a silky mouthfeel. This red wine is expected to offer deeper fruit nuances and a richer flavor profile than the 2017 or 2019 vintages, and its optimal drinking window is projected to extend until 2035.
