The “Charmes-Chambertin” from Domaine Tortochot is a wine crafted from a Burgundy harvest that proved to be a true challenge for winemakers. A rainy spring, the threat of powdery mildew, and uneven flowering led to the need for strict grape selection throughout the Côte de Nuits region, resulting in lower yields. Organic farming, which the estate has been certified for since 2013 (with no chemicals used since 2005), has borne fruit here, and the whole-cluster fermentation method (about 25%) employed by this estate during challenging years lends the wine a lightness. Compared to the full-bodied wines of 2022 and 2020, this Charmes offers greater lightness and a rich bouquet. Aging is recommended. Enjoy it between 2028 and 2040.
