The 2015 Volnay 1Er Cru les Brouillards has a very pure and graceful bouquet thanks to its charming iodine-tinged black cherries and blueberry fruit. Tres Volnay! The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, quite grippy in the mouth, a slight metallic note towards the finish (possibly a little reductive element), but with good substance and persistence.

A slightly riper nose is composed by attractively fresh and elegant notes of red berry liqueur, rose petal, spice and a hint of earth. Once again the medium weight flavors possess a wonderfully refined and sleek mouth feel that is enhanced by the fine-grain of the tannins on the saline and bitter cherry-suffused finish.
