The 2011 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Reignots has dispensed with some of its surliness it demonstrated 12 months previously. Here at the property, it possesses a ripe candied bouquet with hints of aniseed infusing the dark-cherry fruit profile, touches of licorice following suit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm but fine tannins that feel a little bolder than before. It is underpinned by crisp acidity and superb backbone on the convincing finish that suggests it will require several years in bottle. This is impressive.
