The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a more floral bouquet compared to the village cru, here the fruit leaning more towards the red side of the spectrum, beautifully defined and showing impressively. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with fine tannin, quite vivid in the mouth with that blood orange note mixed with spice towards the energetic finish. At this stage, there appears to be considerable distance between the village and premier crus, and it will be interesting to see if this remains after bottling.

Very deep crimson. Heady and savoury and extremely concentrated. Dense and serious but the tannins are well managed ? the spicy fruit is also evident. Lots of ripe tannins though. Pacy. A special wine.?
