2021 also marked the first vintage produced at the winery's new facility, where the number of fermentation tanks doubled from 12 to 25. An increase in the number of fermentation tanks results in smaller lot sizes; in a year considered one of the most heterogeneous in decades, managing each plot separately was a critical task. Axel Marchal served as the consultant. Aging took place in 100% new oak barrels.

The first vintage made in the estate's new winery, the 2021 Trotte Vieille has turned out beautifully, offering up aromas of sweet berries and cherries mingled with burning embers, rose petals and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and polished, it's impressively deep and serious. It's a blend of 54% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Very fragrant, with aromas of blueberries, mushrooms, bark and wet earth, this subtle and complex wine is medium-bodied with fine tannins and bright fruit. At the same time, there is intensity and juiciness. The average age of the vines is between 50 and 60 years, and you can see the character. 54% cabernet franc, 45% merlot, and 1% cabernet sauvignon.

Dark ruby core, purple reflections, subtle ochre tints on the rim. Nuances of red cherries, delicate herbal savouriness with orange zest and tobacco. Concentrated palate with notes of blackberries, finely woven tannins, mineral-salty notes with lemon citrus and bright red fruit on the finish.
Jane Anson (93)
This austere vintage suits the style of Trottevieille, but risks being over-strict, and needs time to put flesh on the bones over ageing. Plenty of floral aromatics right off the bat, following by a mouthwatering combination of pumice-stone salinity, cassis and blackberry fruits, fennel and white pepper spice. Will take its time, but reward patience. 32hl/h yield, 100% new oak. First year in new winery, with double the number of vats (12 up to 25).
