James Suckling (94)

93-94
The purity of fruit is very attractive, with blackberries, black cherries and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with a juicy finish. A solid Kirwan.

Jancis Robinson (16.50)

Dark fruit with a creamy, vanilla edge. Oak still apparent but tannins fine and integrated. Fresh, juicy and elegant in style. Some persistence. Distinctly Margaux.

Vinous (94)

93-95
The 2025 Kirwan takes a little time to settle in the glass, but it is worth the wait as it coalesces and reveals very seductive blackberry and blueberry fruit, pressed violet and light undergrowth scents. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with silky, smooth tannins, a keen line of acidity, velvety and caressing, with ample weight on the quintessentially Margaux finish. What a beautiful wine in the making.

Falstaff (94)

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Coconut flakes, black forest berries, some cassis, blackberry confit, floral touch. Medium complexity, fine fruit sweetness, silky tannins, mineral-salty finish, balanced, precise and promising.
