Chateau Haut-Bergey

Chateau Haut-Bergey

Château Haut-Bergey is located in the heart of Léognan (Graves / Pessac-Léognan) and is the only estate in the appellation certified in biodynamics (Biodyvin). The estate’s vineyard comprises around 42 hectares (38 ha red, 2 ha white) planted on gravelly soils—classic Graves terroir—planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot for the reds and Sauvignon Blanc / Sémillon for the whites. Since 1991 it has been owned by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, with major renovations and a focus on biodynamic viticulture and modern facilities. The winemaking emphasizes vine health, soil expression, and purity of fruit, with the wines described as “wines of place” with a free spirit and modern flavour profile. Haut-Bergey has increasing recognition for delivering good value Bordeaux with serious quality, especially in recent vintages.
