Located in the heart of Italy, Biondi Santi is one of Italy’s successful family-owned wineries. Biondi Santi represents a wide range of delicious red wines, such as the gorgeous and aromatic Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva.
Biondi Santi produces five distinctive wines using Sangiovese vines, and the maturing process of each wine is carried out in Slavonian oak casks. The first and most renowned Biondi Santi wine is the Riserva, produced with vines of over 25 years old and is aged for 36 months. The second one is the Annata, produced with vines from 10 to 25 years of age which, like the Riserva, is aged for 36 months. The Rosso di Montalcino comes from the Red Stripe vineyard with vines of 10 years old, and the Rosso di Montalcino Doc is produced with vines deriving from the Sangiovese-grosso vineyards with vines between 5 and 10 years of age. The last and newest type of wine is the Rosato di Toscana IGT, an intense pink coloured rosé created by Franco Biondi Santi.
Biondi Santi’s Greppo estate covers approximately 25 hectares of land situated between 400/500 meters above sea level. All grapes are harvested manually around the midst of September, after which only the best and most ripe grapes are selected for the production of the Biondo Santi wine. The rest is used to produce a table wine.
