The 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc boasts subtle layers of toasted grain and honey over a base of ripe pineapple, nectarine and citrus. A barrel-fermented blend of Clairette and Roussanne, it's medium to full-bodied, plump and generous without being overly rich or unstructured—a nicely balanced yet expansive white that finishes with focus and length.
60% Clairette, 40% Roussanne. Aged in oak (demi-muids) for six months.
Tasted blind. Golden russet apple on the nose. Sweet fruit that has good marked and integrated acidity, bruised apple and a lanolin character is finished with a subtle note of grilled almond. Well put together. (AC)
Light golden yellow, silver-coloured reflections. Fine yellow tropical fruit, a hint of mango, but also white peach, delicate hints of lime zest and meadow herbs. Juicy, powerful, ripe, sweet pear fruit, fine acidity structure, blossom honey and ripe melon on the finish, already well developed.
