The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Clos Saint Patrice shows a great sense of tension and elegance in its combination of ripe cherries and cool herbs. Full-bodied and silky in texture, without any obvious oak, it showcases the finesse and balance the appellation is capable of.
Superb purity and glossy, ripe red plum and cherry fruits, with rosehip and gently savory elements of coal smoke, too. The palate has a fluid, fleshy and generous shape. Tannins wrap long and scoop into the finish nicely. Best from 2020.
Released in 2021
The core of gently mulled plum, cherry and blood orange fruit fans out nicely, with silky but persistent structure underneath and light incense, rooibos tea and shiso leaf accents on the long, stylish finish. Drink now through 2027. 50 cases made.
