The 2011 Gigondas Le Poste (from limestone and marl soils and a plot of vines just beside the estate that was replanted in 1963) is the most finesse-driven of the three single vineyard releases, with an understated elegance and freshness that comes out with time in the glass. Raspberry, violets, forest floor and crushed flower-like qualities all emerge from the glass, and this full-bodied, supple and elegant beauty never puts a foot wrong. It too is a brilliant effort from a less than straightforward vintage. Enjoy it over the coming 10-15 years.

Shows good range, with steeped pomegranate, bergamot, blackberry and raspberry fruit all melded together at the core, lined with bay leaf, apple wood and singed cedar accents. Picks up serious grip through the finish, with a mouthwatering briary edge adding serious length.?
