Deep-mid ruby. Luxurious colour – like velvet! Red and black fruits, black raspberry, cassis with some ground-black-pepper spice. Very concentrated with just a hint of minty freshness in the middle. Almost a total change in style, this is so rich and complex. Refined, integrated powdery tannins. Spot on!
A discreet application of wood sets off attractively layered aromas of plum, earth, floral nuances and subtle spice hints. There is lovely richness and punch to the well-detailed mineral-inflected flavors that possess a mouth coating and mildly austere finish that delivers excellent persistence. This is more powerful if less refined than the Fuées that also offers fine development potential.
A deeper crimson purple, and definitely a greater weight of fruit on the nose. A burst of fruit on the attack, going through to the back of the palate, a little orange rind note alongside the deep red berry fruit, good acidity, well managed tannins and persistent.
