Protected in theory by bougies but they hardly made a difference. 300 litres produced only in 0.22ha. Mid crimson red. Here the oak scarcely shows because there is adequate fruit concentration, albeit not much detail as yet. Delicious fruit on the palate, dark raspberry with some lifted strawberry notes behind, fills the mouth and kept fresh by the right level of acidity. Fine boned and very persistent.
Moderately generous wood influence is present on the ripe yet decidedly cool aromas of both red and dark currant that are nuanced by earth and sauvage nuances. There is very good detail to the refined but solidly punchy medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere, powerful and tightly wound finale. This could use better overall depth but that should come with time in bottle.
