The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a light approachable, slightly smudged cranberry and strawberry nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a simple, soft opening, crisp and slightly rustic red berries with a touch of spice on the finish. This is easy-drinking Rousseau. Drink now.
Old oak. Pretty light and tight. No great depth compared with the Fourrier wines I have just been tasting but maybe it will all open out? And take on breadth.
