An excellent second wine (a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc), with medium to full body, opulent, delicious fruit, and copious quantities of black fruits intermixed with spice box, the 2000 Comtesse de Lalande should drink well for 10-15 years. It is one of the finest second wines this estate has produced.

Rather decadent, with berry, plum and tobacco character and a hint of meat. Medium-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Solid second wine.
