The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Chaumes seemed just a little subdued on the nose when I tasted it: rather broody brambly red berry fruit that needed to forage more energy in the glass. The palate is clean and precise, strict and linear with a pointed, slightly angular finish that just needs more depth and fruité. Not bad, but Etienne made better 2014s than this I feel.
