Burghound (92)

Moderate wood sets off the aromas of ripe black pinot fruit, violet and a whiff of newly turned earth. The medium weight flavors are not quite as concentrated as those of the Vosne but they're finer and a bit more mineral-driven as well on the dusty, youthfully austere and firm finale that possesses both good length and balance. This will also need at least a few years of cellaring to round off the supporting tannins.
