The 2021 Grüner Veltliner Supergraf bears a fantasy name but stems from the oldest parcel within the Supperin of around 80-year-old vines. The grapes enjoyed 20 hours of skin contact in order to extract "refreshing phenolics" and then fermented spontaneously in the 900-liter barrel. A fine note of honey prevails on the nose, blending in with the savory yeast. The palate is rich, yeasty, rounded, and absolutely textural, with a chiffon veil of phenolics on that salty, miso-like backdrop. The 2021 is a rich wine of structure and contour. (Bone-dry)
