This demands some patience, but has so much to give if you can at least decant it. Smoky and stony, this great dry riesling has fantastic tension and chalky minerality on the compact, medium-bodied palate. Very long finish. From a cool site with plenty of loess in the soil. From biodynamically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
The 2024 Riesling Wachenheimer Altenburg P.C. is from a sandstone site close to the forest. Lovely flintiness beckons on the nose, leading to a citric palate that is as elongated as it is smooth. Lemon zest tingles while slight oak creaminess calms. This is so stretched and long. (Bone-dry)
