This shows some breadth and an underlying earthiness to the black cherry, iron and leafy tobacco flavors. The tannins are dense, yet well-integrated. Persistent and juicy on the spicy finish.
Cask sample taken before Christmas, I’m told – so no wonder it’s so dull! Purplish crimson. Not much nose – a little cumin or dried curry powder of some sort. Not that communicative at this stage.
