Dense, with a lot of forward fruit. Already showing mature character, it's soft and open, with plum, licorice and earth notes.
This retains only a background nuance of the strong wood spice it displayed form cask with floral red fruit aromas that lead to round, rich and complex full-bodied flavors of impressive purity and a lovely textured finish. The backend builds in intensity and there is a beguiling sweetness here instead of the usual young Clos de Vougeot austerity and the precision here is unusual for such a big wine.
