Robert Parker (95)

The 2023 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of dark berries, rose petals, exotic spices, orange zest and licorice. Full-bodied, ample and seamless, it's suave and enveloping, with supple tannins and a generous core of fruit.

Jancis Robinson (18)

Cask sample. Lightish cherry red. Seriously seductive aroma, both floral and pure-fruited. Well-constructed in a lighter vintage. It doesn’t have the intensity of a great vintage but it is elegant, fine-boned and long. Finely built to the character of the vintage. (JH)

Vinous (97)

The 2023 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is more cohesive and complex than the Chapelle-Chambertin. Boasting dark berry fruit, bay leaf and touches of Earl Grey, it is very composed. The palate is medium-bodied, very graceful and harmonious, with sappy red fruit and a silver thread of acidity leading to a peacock's tail toward the finish. This is one of Jadot's best Côte de Nuits cuvées in 2023.

Burghound (95)

A slightly cooler, and certainly spicier, array is composed by aromas that derive more from the red side of the fruit spectrum along with more floral wisps. The refined and beautifully detailed flavors aren't quite as dense as those of the Chapelle but they do flash more evident minerality on the even more persistent finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This is classy and aside from the warmth, very well-balanced.

Jasper Morris (96)

A richer purple and a fuller riper nose, if less fine. Sumptuous but chunky with drier tannins, still quite impressive but it struggles after the perfect balance shown by the Chapelle-Chambertin.
