Saint-Aubin lies quietly in a side valley between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, and “Pierrières” 1er Cru is one of the vineyards that fully capitalizes on the advantages of this cool, high-altitude location. In 2023, Vincent Girardin’s team harvested a crop that, despite the abundance seen throughout Burgundy, was distinguished by its high quality, making careful selection of the grapes even more important than usual. This wine showcases the freshness and clarity of flavor for which Saint-Aubin is renowned. The Chardonnay was pressed as whole clusters, and barrel aging was carried out with limited use of new barrels. Best enjoyed between 2026 and 2036.
