The 2024 "Bâtard-Montrachet" wine from Vincent Girardin was crafted during a growing season that proved to be a true challenge for winemakers throughout the Côte de Beaune. Spring frosts, the threat of powdery mildew in the summer, and uneven flowering made careful selection of the grapes absolutely essential. Girardin’s team harvested the grapes by hand and conducted a two-stage selection process: directly in the vineyard and upon reception. Natural yeasts were used for fermentation, and the proportion of new barrels during aging was limited to less than one-third. Compared to fuller-bodied vintages, this wine is expected to have a more restrained flavor with pronounced minerality. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2048.
