2023 was a bountiful year for the Côte de Beaune. Despite high yields throughout Burgundy, producers who thinned the fruit and carefully selected the grapes were able to craft white wines of the highest quality. The wine “Auxey-Duresses Les Vieilles Vignes Blanc” by Vincent Girardin is made primarily from Chardonnay grapes grown on old vines, which allows it to retain its natural concentration even in a high-yield year. The “Auxey-Duresses” harvest comes from an area located just beyond Meursault, where the climate is cooler and sunlight is more subdued, characteristics that are reflected in this wine. The wine is characterized by a fresh style rich in mineral notes, with a mid-palate that reveals the maturity typical of this vintage. The wine will be ready to enjoy through 2032.
