Salicutti’s “Teatro” vineyard is located on a hill in the southeastern ridge of Montalcino, at an elevation of 420 to 500 meters above sea level, and the 2019 vintage fully reflects the characteristics of this high-altitude location. Thanks to a slow and steady growing season throughout Tuscany, the Sangiovese grapes had ample time to ripen without losing their acidity. In this “Brunello di Montalcino Teatro,” in addition to the concentration one would expect from Salicutti’s biodynamic farming and minimalist approach, there is a distinct sense of freshness. The wine is produced through fermentation in concrete tanks using natural yeasts, followed by aging in large Mittelberger barrels for 40 months. It is now classified as a Riserva and will be ready to enjoyed from 2026 through 2044.
