Pierre Girardin released his first wine in 2017, and the flagship of his lineup is the “Corton-Charlemagne.” The 2024 vintage was the result of one of the harshest growing seasons in Burgundy in recent years. The threat of powdery mildew and uneven flowering forced a rigorous selection of grapes in the vineyards. As a result, yields were reduced. And this concentration is reflected in the glass. This Grand Cru, grown using organic farming methods, with biodynamic practices in the vineyards, and bottled according to the lunar calendar, is aged for 15 months in 456-liter barrels custom-made for Girardin to minimize the impact of new barrels.
