Louis Billard's 2023 vintage is his second, building on the foundation he laid in 2022. He sources the grapes for his Volnay from plots he personally manages in various areas of the Côte de Beaune. This red wine undergoes cold maceration before fermentation and is then, typically using a significant proportion of whole bunches, aged for about a year in a combination of new and used barrels. Among them are barrels he inherited from his time working at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The wine can be enjoyed until 2034.
