Made during a disappointing era for Trotanoy, when the wines lacked concentration and often tasted vegetal, this wine is fully mature, with notes of tapenade intermixed with herbes de Provence, cherry jam, and even a hint of strawberry and red currant. Some acidity and tannin continues to assert themselves in the wine’s finish, suggesting this wine has seen better days and needs to be drunk up.
A wine not up to par for Trot's reputation, but it is elegant and balanced with an herbal, ripe fruit character, medium body, soft tannins and a medium finish.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 16/20 points.
