James Suckling (94)

Very good, showing some density with proper structure and intensity. Full-bodied and deep, with complex, integrated notes of cassis, dark cherries, cocoa powder and fine spices. Tight, structured and fine-grained, with a tense, lengthy finish. Really well-built. A blend of 66% cabernet sauvignon and 34% merlot. Better after 2027.

91 - 93: The 2023 Dauzac is a racy, heady wine. Although by no means the last word in complexity, Dauzac offers plenty of immediacy and overall appeal. Red/purplish-hued fruit, spice and floral notes open effortlessly. Dauzac is pretty intense texturally but not overdone, as it was a few years ago. It's a stylish Margaux to enjoy over the next 15-20 years

Jeb Dunnuck (93)

Deep purple-hued, the 2023 Château Dauzac offers beautiful depth and density in its cassis and lively berry fruits as well as spicy oak, graphite, and liquid violet-like aromatics. It's medium-bodied, has a concentrated, balanced, nicely structured mouthfeel, plenty of ripe, polished tannins, and exceptional purity. Based on 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot and aged 15 months in French oak barrels (65% new) with 10% in amphora, it will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and is going to cruise for at least two decades. It's impressive, and this is a château to watch. Drink 2029-2046.
