The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Clos de la Fontane, a monopole of the domaine matured 35% new oak, has a lifted, Morello cherry and sous-bois-scented bouquet that is "airy" and well-defined. The palate is clean and fresh with supple tannins, well-judged acidity and the new oak nicely integrated toward the smooth, caressing finish. This should be a joy once in bottle.
