The 1993 Chateau Musar is fresh, lovely and a bit bretty. Not overly concentrated, it nonetheless has a bright and lively demeanor, plus a sweet, tasty finish. It is a charming and perky Musar, friendly and well balanced. This is not the biggest or most powerful Musar vintage ever, but given its balance and charm, while retaining the good structure Musar just about always shows, it is quite appealing. There may be a touch of lanolin and a bit of volatile acidity, but it is not in the same vein as the 1995. It reminded me a bit of the 1977 in style. Note: this bottle showed some cork issues. The cork was relatively saturated. It still seemed fresh and young, so after some debate, I chose to publish this review. Note the caveat, however.
