The 2000 Darmagi is notably less successful than the very fine 1999, a bit herbaceous on the nose, forceful but a bit dry and tight in texture. Drink: 2005-2016. Wines like this, made by Piedmont’s most famous producer, can only arouse some serious doubts about the future of Cabernet in the region.
This is dark, rich and very silky. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a long, caressing finish. Well-crafted and extremely pretty. Always one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons from the Langhe.
