Montrachet

Montrachet (and Le Montrachet) is the finest and most notable Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune region and is home of some of the best white wines of the world. It is situated between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The vineyard covers 7.99 hectares and is owned by more than 15 owners and even more producers.

The best wines of Montrachet

Montrachet (and Le Montrachet) is the finest white and most notable Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune region. It is situated between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The vineyard covers 7.99 hectares and is owned by more than 15 owners and even more producers.

Montrachet is located on a southeast-facing ridge with optimum sun exposure. It is surrounded by four other Grand Cru climats: Chevalier-Montrachet above and Batard-Montrachet below, as well as Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet and Criots-Montrachet. The terroir consists of limestone and marl soils, which are perfect for Chardonnay.

Montrachet is noted for producing some of the world's finest Chardonnay wines. Renowned producers such as Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Bouchard Pere et Fils and Joseph Drouhin make collectible wines from this vineyard.
