The 1989 has fine flavor extraction, as well as disturbingly hard tannin in the finish. It is clearly meant to be aged, although it may be drinkable by the late nineties. While not as concentrated as the 1990, it is obviously more tannic, structured, and potentially longer-lived. However, I doubt it will ever provide the degree of pleasure the 1990 will. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2015. Last tasted 9/94.
